Motorcycle Theory

The motorbike theory test consists of two elements. The first aprt is a multiple choice theory test which is carried out on a computer. In total there are 50 questions and you need to score 43 out of 50 to pass. There are numerous online resources and dvds that you can buy to help you with the theory test. Make sure you do enough work to ensure that you pass the theory test first time.

When you have completed the question element of the test, there is a short delay and then the introduction to the hazard perception test will start. The test consists of 14 clips of film, with a total of 15 developing hazards which you need to identify. You identify the hazard by clicking the mouse. The sooner you click, the higher you score (maximum of 5 points per hazard). The total number of points you can get is 75 and the pass mark is 44 out of 75.

You need to pass both parts of the test at the same time. If you do so the invigilator will give you your certificate and you are then free (as long as you've done your CBT) to go home and book your practical test!
